first make a slip knot below leave room for a tail or sting at the begining and end
then cast on below (the loops are called stitches)
now learn to knit below
to cast off knit 2 stitches then slip the bottom one above the top one then when you have 1 left cut the string long enough to pull the string though the stitch then your finished
